After his daughter Jalisa was diagnosed with lupus, North Vancouver resident Karim Chandani took action. He called upon everyone he knew to put together Celebs For Kids, a two-day fundraiser, Aug. 14-15, to help establish the Ross Petty Research Chair in paediatric rheumatology.

Celebs For Kids festivities included a golf tournament at Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country Club as well as a poker event and fashion show at the Sutton Place Hotel.

The fundraiser wrapped at Richmond's River Rock Casino.

The event, featured here, was packed full of entertainment including a live show from painter and entertainer Michael Israel. Many athletes, celebrities and dignitaries participated to support the cause. Info: www.celebsforkids.ca
